Default no oil pressure at all??!! help

went to a mini autocross today, never get out of 2nd gear. did 2 runs. nothing crazy, then i parked the car to cool down. then i came back, went to go for a 3rd run, and see i have 0 oil pressure, and kind of a buzzing noise (something in the heads, maybe lifters) def not a knock noise. so i shut the car off right away and had it towed home.

any idea what could cause 0 oil pressure all of a sudden? it has oil in it. doesnt leak oil, and doesnt burn oil. the engine was rebuilt about 500 miles ago.

Pickup tube oring..... the sender could also be broke. I would put a mechanical gauge on it before thinking anything serious first

Man, the exact same thing happened to me. I was autocrossing at the LSX Fest last year and did 2 runs and then on the 3rd one lost all oil pressure. The valveltrain was making alot of noise so I knew for sure it was the oil pump. I towed it home and hooked up my X Prime (oil pump primer) that I had from another build I did and sure enough, no pressure and I connected a mechanical gauge to be sure. Turns out, the oil pump bypass got stuck open and that was it. It's actually becoming a common thing with stock oil pumps.

Buy a new oil pump.
