Are these custom spec cams or just off the shelf? If they are off the shelf I would advise to do a custom cam just so it matches your setup.

I would think the TEA/TFS 235s would be the ticket for the 402. From what I've read, you really need a minimun 4.065" bore for LS3 heads to shine. Reguardless which heads you decide on, have a custom cam spec'd by either Martin @ www.tickperformance.com or Patrick G
Check out the build below. LS3 416 w/ported LS3 heads. Dyno graph post 27 IIRC

You said in a previous post you go to Pat G's shop for dyno testing, why not get him to spec you a cam? You're using the shop of one of the better cam guys in the country and then asking us what cam to use!?!?

Take that thing to the track!

How does it drive? That cam has been a very good performer for me.

The cam drives very similar if not better than my eps 230/238 when I had the LS3. The car is an absolute monster from a roll. I will post the dyno sheets up later and maybe take some pics . I ve been told and it sure does feel like the car is good for 10s on motor. The question is whether or not I can get it to hook.weighed the car last month and it came in at 3060. I still plan on adding drag wheels and a lightweight battery. If you are anywhere near the Texas area, I highly recommend Patrick G for tuning. He is worth every penny and has proven to me for a 3rd time that he is the best IMO. He and Kurt are very professional and always got some nice projects in the shop getting major upgrades. Thanks again to Martin as well for the custom cam. It got me just where I wanted to be. In the future I may send off my heads to TEA for additional porting to see if it will help me chase every last hp

Thats some strong power over a good range. It should run in the tens by mistake. My Cobra ran low 11s on Nittos @3700 pounds with 100 less HP. Your car is going to fly.

Very nice power curve indeed.

Patrick did a very nice job tuning it.

wow. nice numbers through a 402 with an auto on a mustang dyno. Makes me wanna upgrade my C&Cn'd Ls3s

Martin, is there a min bore required on the 255s? Im running a Lq9 427 stroker. And are these able to be bought bare?

The OP motor is a 408 IIRC.

I am unsure what TFS recommends or what TEA recommends, but that wouldn't be a problem for me to find out.

My personal recommendation would be 4.030" or larger.

On a 427 these heads would really shine IMO.

-11cc CP pistons
243/255 .651/.651 112+2 Lunati Voodoo
Curently running SDPC CNC'd Ls3 heads milled 30 thousandths
Made 560rwhp on a mustang dyno. Just not sure if theres that much more room left on the table dropping another 2k+ on heads over my current setup.

I would highly doubt that there is much power to be had, agreed.

In terms of dollar spent vs. the gains you would see it wouldn't be very cost effective.
