Default Lq4+ls1?

I am going to pick up a complete LQ4 from a 2000 GMC truck and an 1999 LS1 with damage pistons and bad block, but everything else is in good condition, ie: crank, heads, connecting rods. The cam will be the polluter from Tick Performance, and it will be carbed. How can I Frankenstein these two motors to make the best combination without spending much money? It will be going into a 1968 Camaro with a TH400.

If this is in the wrong section, I am very sorry. I wasnt sure where to put it.

It would probably be in your best interest to use the heads and oil pan/pickup from the LS1 and use it on the LQ4. I'm assuming the LQ4 has 317 castings, which have a larger chamber than the LS1 heads. Using the LS1 heads will increase compression.

The oil pan and pickup tube is probably needed to clear in the Camaro chassis.

You'll also want to use the front accessories from the LS1. The accessories on the LQ4 stick out further. Keep the LQ4 crank.

That LQ4 will probably have the longer end on the back of the crank so you won't need any type of spacer to use the TH400 tranny.
