Default 12576400 lifters or 17122490 lifter

Hello to all,
I'm building an LY6 engine with LS3 cam and heads. I need a set of lifters. As far as I can tell the non active fuel management lifters for the LY6 and LS3 are the 12576400 lifters. These lifters are expensive to me. Now, I keep seeing a lifter kit part number 12499225. It has 16 lifters in it (single lifter p/n is 17122490). you can get this kit for around 100.00 bucks. The description says that its an LS7 lifter thats been redesigned and is a replacement lifter for all LS series engines. Which ones should I use and why?

Not really redesigned. Just all put under one part number.

I've got a set of stock LS3 lifters on my stash shelf, if you want 'em. $80/shipped. I'm running BTR lifters now and don't need them.

From your post I can tell you are on a budget but why not a set of tie bar lifters? The price on them have come down dramatically and you won't need that plastic tray in your motor.

Just from my personal experience, I have had a lifter turn on me twice in 2 different motors. I'll never put a plastic tray in my motor ever again.

Scoggin-Dickey has the Lunati part #72332 for $319.00. Just for comparison Jegs has them for $379.00.
