Default crankshaft question

I bought a lq9 motor to put in my 69 camaro and i'm going to run the GMPP corvette accessory kit. I took off the truck harmonic balancer today on my lq9 block to install an LS3 harmonic balancer and have a question. I measured in the crankshaft to were the threads start…3 inches. The threads end 4 1/2inches in to end of hole in crank. So is that all the thread there is for the bolt 1 1/2 inches?? The bolt came off pretty easy but the balancer was a bitch. I saw some metal filings and was concerned about the threads….but the threads are so deep in there i can't visibly inspect them. How can I check the threads to make sure everything is good?

All set…spoke to a technician from JEGS and he confirmed what my measurements were are correct.
