Default max hp on melling hi vol oil pump

Im setup is lsx block, dragon slayer crank, Callies rods, PRC 255cc 6 bolt heads, holley intake, Tick performance hyd cam. Looking to build 1250plus rwhp. I want to use a melling hi vol pump and a 7qt pan. Will this work and is there anything special I need to do to the oiling system on the block, pump, etc, etc... Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

You would be wise to use the Melling M10355 oil pump with their M35507 spring. The following graph shows the performance of some of Melling's LS oil pumps versus the GM pumps.

Good luck with your decision.

You can probably use a stock GenIV pump from an DoD/AFM engine. They pump a higher volume and I believe they have a higher pressure relief, too. With a 7 quart pan you'll have plenty of oil so you should feel pretty good about running that pump.
