Default Scratch on block deck LS2

After cleaning my block deck I found out I have scratched the deck;( I wanted to share some pics with you guys to see if I actually I need to take my block to the machine shop to resurface it or I will be fine with that. The scratch is not so deep but deep enough to catch a nail.

I'd have it machined. That intersects the coolant passage, so it could be a leak path for coolant.

If it were mine, I'd spray the head gaskets with copper sealant and drop it in the car. If it belonged to someone else , I'd do what KCS said and surface the deck.

If it's deep and you can really catch a finger nail it's a problem point. If it's really light and cant catch finger nail put it together and forget about it using copper spray as mentioned above may provide some sealing help.

The 100% fix is resurface chances are it'll be fine but there's inherent risk and you need to weigh if you are comfortable with the risk factor.
