I have a aftermarket crank that has a keyway grove all the way down the snout. Right now there is 2 keyways installed on it. What is the proper way to install the front cover around them? I was thinking I will remove the end one and then put it back on after the cover/seal is on. Can I cut a keyway to size? Do I need to fill in the groove with something like silicon so it doesn't leak around the seal? Thanks in advance

I'm not sure what you're asking, the ID of the seal is large enough that it doesn't hit the key ways at all. The seal rides on the OD of the damper, so there's no need to mess with the keyways when you install the front cover.

Thank you, that is my mistake. I thought the seal ran on the snout
