Default Lq4 + ls6 cam + ls3 top end?

I'm about to put a lq4 in my T/A, the original plan was 243 heads with the ls6 cam and intake. I was planning on cutting .060 off the heads to get compression up.

I guess my question is... would it be worth it to just go with the ls3 top end instead? The heads would be stock, just milled. Stock ls3 intake.

I don't mind getting a different cam if it's worth it, but I'm trying to keep it small for now until I get another dd.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated

With such a small cam and bore, the higher flow of the LS3 heads might be wasted.

Either way, definitely get a different cam for those heads...a budget one is the LS9 version.

An LS6 cam is very similar to the specs of a stock LS3 cam. So with slightly less cubes than an LS3, you can expect similar but slightly less power and torque from that combo than a stock LS3.
