difference in ls2 rods? one is notched,the other 7 arent?

Default difference in ls2 rods? one is notched,the other 7 arent?
I bought a set of gen 4 rods for my gen 3 5.3l. One of them has a notch cast into the side of the big end,the other 7 do not? Where does it go?
