Default 6.0L Crankshaft flange depths? early vs late?

Is there a diffrence in crankshaft depths for early vs late model 6.0ls? The flange that the flex plate bolts to? Would this hinder the install of a 98-02 t56?I've heard several stories. Thanks!!

thick flange it will not work w/ T56, you can use the thick flange 6.0 crankshafts (early) with a TH400.

yes some are different, my lq4 from a 2000 pickup has the thicker crank in the back. Not postive but i think 99-00 have the thick one and 01+ are thiner i would double check that. I was going to use my 4l60e but without a different flexplat or converter it wouldnt fit right. Cant remmber if the starter still lined up. In the long run i just got a 4l80e out of an 03 pickup and used that with the flexplat from the 2000 truck and worked great, now i just need a 4000 stall to really wake it up. Dont know what you could do for a t56 setup. I think the thicker one stuck out about 1/2inch more, took me forever to realize theirs different lq4 cranks.

is this what the spacer is for? thick ones? my 00 lq4 has a spacer that fits between the flywheel and crank - the flywheel bolts go through it.

on the longer crank of a early lq4 if ur running a 4l60/4l65/4l70/700r4 the only thing that should change would be the torque converter, wouldn't it?
