I just bought my cam off a member here and I noticed some red paint on part of the cam. Is that normal? I called him and he told me that's how it was when he bought it NEW from Thunder Racing. Do you guys recommend I use titanium retainers? I plan on doin my own cam install (will be my first time). I will also be buying the 918 springs off him next month.

Ive seen red paint markings on TSP cams, but not on the lobes right???? should just be on the head of the cam by the bolt holes area.

and you can use titanium retainers if you want. Or just leave them. I did it. Not sure how much of a difference it would make though. Lighter and stronger.

Yeah, the paint mark isn't on the lobes. Hows your car? Is your new setup done yet?
