Even SAE gets their facts wrong sometimes. They claim the LS9 has forged pistons...
Lessee...now I've heard they have forged aluminum (SAE), forged steel (thank you Car & Driver), and hyperuetectic (everyone else) pistons.

forged pistons would certainly make sense for this engine...
I wonder if the twin disc clutch designed for this engine will fit an LS2 crank? I could see these becoming the new "LS7 clutch package" if they aren't priced ridiculous...

forged pistons in o.e. engines
They are forged pistons. Not uncommon for the o.e. when they want to make power. 8-92-ish 5.0 mustangs, '03 cobra mustangs, ford GT, Porsche 997 turbo, and many others use them. The new Cadillac LSA version of the engine is getting cast pistons...it doesn't make the same power and the expected driving conditions aren't as harsh. The LSA is "hopefully" what the top level 2009 Camaro carries. -Brian Nutter
