Default Driveshaft Shop 9" kits for early and late Manero's

CHEVROLET 2010-2011 Camaro 6-Speed Manual DSS 9'' Independent Rear Conversion Kit

The Drive Shaft shop is proud to announce the release of the new G8 9" Rear Conversion Kit. This system has been designed and built specifically for the new Camaro/G8 platform.

Using a steel case with rear mounts tig welded on and a front mount that connects to the original 5 pinion bolts on the 9” center section. Due to the variety of differentials and spools available, we have decided to supply the 9” case only, allowing you to decide what center section would be best for your needs (we can supply the center section upon request). This kit utilizes all 3 original mounting points for the factory differential, Included are custom polyurethane mounts used to support the case, along with all other hardware needed for the installation.

We have supplied our special 31 spline diff stubs rated to 1400HP (larger spline stubs are available for a nominal fee).

All fabrication work for the differential mounting is being done by Scott Bagshaw of Bagshaw fabrication Mooresville, NC. We here are The Driveshaft Shop have decided to move away from telling everyone what materials we are making these parts from. Why, you ask? Well it seems that we have been having trouble with monkey see, monkey do in the drivetrain market. What we will say is that over the last few months DSS has aligned itself with a mill in Sweden providing Aerospace grade material to us direct, that when heat treated to our specifications will far exceed any "trendy" materials that you may have heard of lately. All we want you to know is that it comes from us here at DSS and being that we have been around for more than 35 years, it should be clear that we are not some hobbyists making parts in our spare time. You can count on us to not only come out with the highest quality drivetrain parts, but also to have the capability to bring them to you at a better price, have them in stock with service that is second to none.

The system will come with our Pro-Series 1400HP axles designed for the 9" conversion(sorry the standard G8 axles will not fit).(now coming with custom billet outer made from a new material).
We have also spent considerable time and effort to supply the kit with a proven driveshaft (can not be excluded)

The kit will include:
1. Powder coated Differential housing (bare housing) with rear bracket and poly bushing (centersections avalible apuon request)
2. Powder coated front mount with poly bushings
3. (2) 31 spline diff stubs with o-ring bushings rated and guaranteed for 1400HP
4. (2) DSS 1400HP "fatty" axles with 30 spline center shafts and REM polished CV internals. as of Jan 20th axles will come with new billet outer made from custom blended material.
5.Driveshaft options (all come with custom billet plates, please click link to see why)
(2) chromoly/aluminum
(2) chromoly/chromoly

6. All necessary hardware needed to complete the installation
7. 1-year warranty.
8. fully insured

Notes:
This system was designed to use a Strange "s" series case (or similar), other cases can be used but will require a small amount of fabrication on the upper part of the housing. when ordering a center section please make sure the pinion support bolts

are the same size and clock as a Factory Ford diff.

2004-2006 GTO DSS 9'' Independent Rear Conversion Kit

As most of you know, almost all of the fastest independent rear cars run Driveshaft Shop drive train parts. In the past we have been in the shadows, keeping to our shop and doing what we do best, which is making great drive train products. We recently developed a narrowed 9″ rear for the 2010 Camaro. Being that our roots have been in the GM market, supporting every model with sub 8 second runs, we felt that it was time to just go ahead and do it. We contacted Jeremy (LS2-Goat) on the LS1gto forum as he is the fastest 6-speed GTO around. We wanted to pick a car that was well known and had enough HP to test our new design to the very limit. We have been working with Scott Bagshaw of Bagshaw Fabrication in Mooresville, NC on other platforms that we have used the 9″ rear in, such as our new Camaro and SRT8 9” conversion kits. He had also already done some work for Jeremy/LS2-Goat so it was a good match. All I can say is, just take a look at the execution of this install, the pictures speak for themselves.

This kit is fully built to withstand the most punishing setups and keep going without a whimper. In addition to the 9” housing, brackets and hardware, we are also including our signature 1400HP Pro-Level axles with the uber-strong 30 spline center bars. These axles are without a doubt the strongest on the market, with 300M Races and full billet 4340 CV cages. The billet axle stubs going into the differential are also included and are 31 spline to fit many of the popular center sections. We have been asked why we don’t use a larger spline into the differential, and to be quite honest, anything larger than the axle center bar is not going to make it any stronger (we use a 30 spline center bar, unlike the standard 28 spline that most 108mm CV’s use). This design is the same as can be found on Lingenfelter’s 2010 Camaro 6 speed manual running 8.99′s at 4200lbs along with Mark Carlyle's ZO6 vetter (8.15) it is a testament to how strong they really are (not to mention Travis/Tbones killer GTO running 8.90’s with a trans brake).

When we are designing our products we will first send them out to a testing lab and test a few different heat-treat specs and even different material compositions until we find the results that we want to achieve. We have also recently aligned ourselves with a mill in Sweden that is producing a modified version of 300M for us that we have found to be 15% stronger than regular 300M in testing (with our heat-treat specifications). There isn’t any guesswork here, only results and fast cars that with our help will keep getting faster.

The kit will come with a choice of a 4″ Aluminum shaft or, for a nominal upgrade fee, the new 3-3/4” Carbon Fiber shaft (using our new bonding technology, see our website for more info). The shaft will also have a Strange billet transmission yoke of your choice and solid 1350 series u-joints. It will be balanced on our new true to speed 9500RPM balancer. We will not be supplying the center section with the kit, this is a bare 9” housing, but will be happy to quote you for either a Strange or Spraker Racing center section by email (figure arounf 1500.00 with a strong diff)
