Default New here 93 Z28

Hey guys, Been reading for awhile now. Just joined because I'm just getting ready to get my camaro on the road.

She's a 93 LT1 Z28 Camaro, A4 black and grey interior. It's got 200k miles on the body but the motor was gone through at some point. New catback (you can see the shiny tips) unknown muffler? prolly Flowmaster (yuck)

Here's the story, had a chance to buy it from a lady who drove it everyday to work for $1800, passed on it to fix a 93 lx 5.0 I already had (dumb)

Well another guy that works with my mechanic bought it. He ragged on it....drove it hard...very hard. Every time he left somewhere he was lighting the tires up.

Well I wrecked the stang, and part it out...and I get a call from my mechanic...he tells me that this guy has the 93 LT1 for sale and if you don't buy it he's going to. He said the A4 is gone 3rd and 4th are out of it. But it still runs good but it's gonna need a tune up too. The guy only had it for 2-3 months.

Sounds interesting, but how much does he want for it? $400 he says. I said I'm on the way. Cranks up runs good, has a miss in it, but I drive it home. He only lived like 3 miles from me. 3rd and 4th are def gone but I was quoted $875 on the rebuild because it's for all intents and purposes a 700R4

The "miss" turned out to be the opti, got to where it wouldn't hold an idle, stumbled, ect. bought an ebay opti for $88, shipped to my house.

Gonna be my DD, have another lx coupe mustang that I'm going to put a 350 sbc in That's gonna be the hot rod for now. Till I can afford a LS1 Fbody and make the LT1 the drag car

Get one used for $100.00 and another $100.00 for install tops. See if you can find a u-pullit junk yard. The windshield guys go there to get windshields to resell. or if you see a mobile windshield man get his card, tell him to go to junk yard and get you one. None running v6 camaros go for about $250.00 -$500.00 for the whole car. Good luck. Congrads, Always nice in the later years to own the first year model. John

Thanks...I knew they wouldn't be too bad....yea the 700R4 helped out alot...my tranny man told me if it was a 4l60e it'd be around $1100-1200 to rebuild....but by mine not being electronically controlled $875...

Oh yea, it's a hardtop car if you can't tell by the pics......kinda wish I had t-tops.....but hardtops are lighter right? what's the weight on a 93 z28 hardtop? anyone happen to know?
