Angry My Yukon was carjacked

My Yukon that was so much fun is officially gone...

As you may have heard it was carjacked Sunday evening 11/22/09 at 5:45pm near 3rd St.@Attayac St. in Austin, Tx. The suspect armed with a 9MM jumped out of a black suburban and demanded the keys from my wife just as she exited our Yukon after arriving at a relatives house.

Here's the aftermath.

As of 11/23/09 only six sets of these Vellano VSK 26x10 inch chrome wheels with the 6x139.7 bolt pattern have ever been built and all sets may not be in the United States. Regardless of location, as of yesterday this was one of six sets in the entire world. If you see a set of these wheels for sale they may be the one's stolen from my Yukon so please call 911 and refer to the Austin, Tx. Police Department case number 09-3261708.
Here are some closeups of the wheels:

Just remember most thieves are dumb. He will either be rolling with the wheels on his car around town or trying to sell them. The other year someone broke in to my garage and stole about $3,500 worth of tools and what not. Week later I see my wife’s brand new GT mountain bike on Craig’s List. I go to the guy’s house, amazingly only a few miles from mine to “buy” a bike. I BS him on the way to his garage telling him I really wanted to buy a Cannondale for my daughter, but that costs to much. He said he had one also, but it was a men’s bike. Funny, the other bike I had stolen from my garage was the same thing.

He opens his garage side door and takes out the bike without letting me in, but I see behind him my Cannondale, welder, and generator. We come to a price and I tell him I had to call my “wife” to ok it, the greedy SOB would not budge. My “wife” ends up being the unmarked squad down the block. This guy swore up and down that it was his bike to the cops, but shut up when I pulled original receipts with serial numbers out for both bikes. He had by then must had pawned off my other tools, but at least I got some of my larger items back and the insurance kicked in for the rest.

This is why I like to carry a small camera in my jacket. He was living at home with Mom. Had a garage full of tool boxes, cordless drills, saws, snow blowers, ect… but did not have a job.

For those that were keeping an eye out... Thank you! The wheels have been recovered...

They were recognized by an Austin Police Department Sergeant who discovered them on a vehicle that was driving recklessly.

That was a sharp looking truck, looks like you put some work into it.. have they arrested anyone else besides the guy who had the wheels, what an idiot, driving around with them..

Its getting bad nowadays... more of a reason to start carrying a gun and take a firearm course. I would have shot the guy dead.

That'll buff right out...

Just kidding!

What a terrible experience to deal with, glad your wife is unharmed. Too bad so many scumbags feel it's nessasary to take what's not there's! Johnny law useually catches up to them. At least you got your rims back.

wow! that's awesome. Next would be to see if they were involved or was a poor sucker who bought the wheels off a "friend"
