Another Potential V8 Miata Guy Looking To Gain Knowledge
Hello,
I'm currently pricing and planning a V8 miata swap into an NA body that I will complete over the winter and early spring months. As everyone knows there are two options currently for the swap:
- LSx conversion
- OR Ford 302 conversion
Looking at the options obviously I want to go down the LSx route because of the fact that these engines produce more power stock and are aluminum blocks (weight savings). Currently I am considering the 5.3 L33 swap because of the potential and low price the engine carries. Although, I wish there were more dyno graphs of its potential (I have searched). There is one without a cam swap on here producing 320wtq which is nice. My other thought is to buy a stock LS6 engine because they can be had for descent prices and produce a nice 405bhp.
I personally think I would be happy around the 350whp/350wtq mark (maybe to lofty) but obviously I need to do a ton of research to find which combo will get me there. The knowledge and experience here is why i have joined the forum.
Cheers,
Chris
