Default New potential Ls1 owner

Hey guys, finally decided to make an account on here in hopes of learning more and even possibly trading my car for an LS1 Trans am or Camaro

My names billy and I'm from Central Florida, I currently drive a Cobalt SS supercharged with a decent amount of mods, trying to sell it to buy this lovely Camaro

Also I don't know if I can post pictures with a low post count but heres the current ride.

50 posts in the tech sections, or 6 months....whatever comes first. You can see the classifieds you just cant post in them. Welcome.

welcome, the SS isnt exactly a slouch for a 4 cyl, but you will definetly feel the power difference with the stock V8

good luck with the sale, but truthfully you can probably save up about 5 grand and get a good ls1 f body for cash and keep the cobalt as the DD,

I wouldn't spend that much for a 98 either. I bought my 99 for $4975. Came stock with a lid and cat back and 146,000 miles. Even though the mileage on the 98 is low, that is alot to pay. Just something to think about.

If I were you, I would keep the Cobalt and save my money and pick up a Camaro for cash. Keep your eyes on Craiglist everyday, and save your money. I was saving my money to buy an SS not long ago. However when my motor went out on my truck I had the money to pick up my SS, pay cash for it, and now I am on my way back to saving to fix my truck.

However if you "need that SS" I would inquire about it. Look for longtubes, off-road y pipe, cat back, lid, and ask for a dyno sheet. They claim 375 hp? Is that at the wheels? $2000 dollars for a upgraded clutch? Are they trying to re-coop the labor of that clutch install? Or is it a full race clutch? Ask for paperwork. What kind of clutch is it? I just picked up a monster stage 3 kit for $650 and it is about a $300 to 400 install (fyi). If it is a full race clutch? If it is, that thing is going to be a bitch to daily drive. Also inquire why they are getting rid of it.
