Default New from In. 5.3 issue

I have a 2001 5.3 that is running way to rich when you hook the fuel pump wire up and will die. You can touch the wire and prime the motor then start it and will run fine till it runs outta fuel then you can power up the fuel pump just before it dies and it will flood the motor with fuel. It has a return line that has good flow back to the tank. The fuel pressure is 58psi running when you touch the wires, but you can't keep them together for long. I know you will probably need more info so just let me know. Thanks Any help would be appreciated.
