Default New guy with a 97 SS.

Hey guys I've been on this board for a long time, but have always owned Mustangs so I never posted. I bought a 97 SS today, 6 speed, tan interior, t-tops, etc. Ex police car supposedly. It does have some bracing underneath, but not certain if it's just stock stuff or not. It's pretty much bone stock, it has a knockoff Flowmaster and a Hurst shifter. It has a minor exhaust leak, sounds like its coming from the manifold or in that area.

But that's my intro, my name is Vince and I'm from southeast Indiana.

I hate skip shift.

Welcome - lets see some pics!

Others may know better than me, but I don't think they offered the SS package in conjunction with the police package - especially with t-tops.

Thanks, when I get the pics on my laptop I'll post some up. It's dark green with ZR1's.

And I have no idea about the police package, when I saw the t-tops it definitely made me think that the "ex police car" part was made up. Carfax shows the car was leased in 96 and then at 18,000 miles the car was bought by a guy in Florida. And was bought in Tampa by the guy I bought it from, but it doesn't sound like it had a police car history to me.

Yeah, I think that's the case.

I've always really liked the 1996-1997 SS's. What color?

It's a dark metallic green.
