Hi All,

I expect some of you high HP LS1 guys will laugh at this....

I special ordered a Black, T-Top, 82 firebird back in early 82. This was my first and only new car. It was a V6, 4 speed car. I wanted lower insurance and better gas mileage. Daily commuter.

I ordered the base interior, then tore out the stock seats and put in Recaros.
I deleted the stereo and did my own am/fm/cassette, with a 100 watts RMS for channel amp. i also build a plywood cover for the rear well that housed 2 12" woofers.

I bought the sway bars, springs, shocks, etc from a WS6 Trans am and swapped them into the car.

Also had 15" 60 series Eagle GTs, which were premier tires at that time.

Anyway, just bought a 99 black T-Top 3.8 Firebird with only 64K miles from a 72 YO guy who took great car of it.

I am doing a few of the things I did back in the day. got WS6 sway bars and energy susp bushings. Ruff racing 18" chrome wheels with 275 35s rear and 245 40s in front.

Would eventually love to do Recaros or similar.

Sorry this is kind of long....

Thanks for all the info here!

Mark

Throw some lowering springs on it and maybe some light tint to complete the look.
