Default LSx newbie

Hello everyone. I'm from Pittsburgh and want to LS swap my Wrangler. I'm starting my first LS swap and have run into a small problem. I bought a 2005 5.4 from a trailblazer and was given a modified factory harness and reprogramed ECU, but the harness and ECU are from a 2001 Silverado. I have both intakes, and the 2001 intake fits the 2005 motor, but I'm not sure the 2001 gen III harness and ECU can handle the 2005 gen IV motor. Anyone have any experience here?

Welcome to the site, it looks as if you would have an LH6 aluminum 5.3 liter Gen IV with active fuel management if it is an 05 trailblazer V8. A good alternative engine you could source that would be comparable and already gen 3 would be an L33. You could just flip what you have.

You will probably want to post a question like this in a more specific forum for better help. To try and find compatibility info on what you already have I would start with the two links below. The first of which would be your best bet.

Conversions and hybrid swap forum
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids-28/

Or maybe here in the PCM/tuning specific forum you can find compatibility issue
https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagnostics-tuning-7/

ALSO: Searching google and including "site:ls1tech.com" in the search bar will net you results from within this site. Choose good keywords to include like, gen 3 and gen 4 differences, and see what that gets you.
