Hey everybody, Was introduced to this site through a friend with a mutual interest in Studebakers. I'm building a 54' Champion Starlight coupe using a crate motor LS3, Heidts Pro-G rearend, Flaming River rack and pinion steering and hopefully (if I can get it to fit and ground clearance) a 6L80E six speed auto trans. Right now I'm re-inforcing the frame and mounting the rear suspension. I have the ride height set and all the front suspension in W/O the springs and I just picked up the engine from the Chevy dealer last week. So that's where I'm at, and that's when I found this site. Will keep you posted as the project goes on. Always asked "why this car?". Well, I think they're a beautiful car, had a 53' in high school w/ a 61' 283, dual quad, T-10 4 speed and 4/11 vette' rearend. Loved that car but my Dad made me sell it! I've been restoring and building cars for a while but could never forget my old 53', so when I found this one I said why not and what if! That's it- Ironworkerjiim
