Well I have a 5.3 LY5 that is all new to me. I will be installing it in my 1966 C10.Looking forward to removing the 5.7 I installed 1994 it is pretty tired. I would like to change intake(don't like the truck intake) maybe a LS1 style. I will be here looking for info on what will be best for my build. If you have any pros or cons I could use the help.

i would keep it. shave it clean it looks great painted then. then you dont have to change injectors & rails , electrical plugs either. u tube has it on there look up ls shave intake. for tranny i would go the 4L60E.

Thanks for the info. I checked out u tube and don't think that will work. I will use the 4L60E trans for sure. I hope to find LS1 manifold and fuel line.
