Best Cubic inch engine for high nitrous application
Hey guys,
I want to put a big ci engine in my C5 with the addition of 200-300 shot of nitrous. What would be the best size engine for lots of nitrous? I was thinking the ARE 436ci? Also, would a wet shot of TNT be ok, or direct port.
Thanks,
Greg

If you are going to be spraying a lot and regularly a direct port (IMO) is the way to go. It will load up all the cylinders evenly and you'll never have to worry if #7 is getting any.
As far as your goals, what do you want out of the car? I spray 200 onto my ARE 382 AB and it runs 9's off the trailer easily. How fast do you want to go and how much streetability do you want to keep?

I want to run 9.5 or faster through an auto tranny. I want streetability too. I'm not always going to be at the track, but its not going to be a daily driver either.

If you want to run that deep all the time, something like a pretty stout 422 would probably be in the ballpark. You could spray a 434/436, but the thing that scares me is the overly long stroke and the wall thickness on the bores.
At least that way you can probably get away with spraying a little less and save some of your parts.
Give Wade a call, I'm sure he can lay it all out for you.
