Default **VID** '03 Cobra vs '02 Formula

So I finally got a run in with a friend of mine in his '03 Cobra(intake/exhaust).

He missed 4th but his front bumper was at my door and he was coming.

Made a 2nd run too but we both had traction problems and he caught first and it turn out bad.

Sorry for the slow camera car!

awesome!!! Loved watching those. I love the sound of your formula. So much better sounding than the cobra IMO.

What was the camera car I always wonder..

I have no idea why some Cobra owners cant handle geting their car off the line.

Nice runs.

Looked like some good runs. Slow *** camera car though. That second run look like it may have hurt a little.

Nice runs, dude. You were WAY outmatched and still showed up and fought hard. That's the way to go down.

In car camera or bust!

Good kill!

I'd make my next mods a converter and some drag radials. Right there he probably won't be able to catch you in the 1/4 mile without at least some better tires. After that I'd finish off the bolt-ons and you'll be mid-low 12's.

Or you could just throw a shot at it like dynotune said and end it there

I think alot of it is people that have no idea how to drive think that since the 03 Cobra has so much hype if they get one they automatically = fast. Not the case. Hell when I was H/C/I @ 328rwhp I stayed ahead of a lightly modded 03 Cobra vert on the interstate from a 60mph roll. I'm still trying to figure that one out.

You were dreaming.

I'd say it was lack of experience just like most people when they get their first high HP car. There are a lot of younger guys getting these cars, Cobras and F-Bodies, and they just haven't learned how to get them going. The older guys that have them just don't race much so they are also inexperienced or they get overzealous.

No actually I downshift next to him...he stayed right next to me (couldn't see him since his tint was dark) so I planted the gas! lol **** him I figured, he has a V8 supercharged and I have 328rwhp! I was going to let him catch up and blow past me but it never happened. I think around 100mph he was starting to pull on me alittle though. I'm sure with the three honks it would have been different tho.

Thanks everyone. It was a race that was like a year in the making, lol. I would like to make 1 clean run but whatever, lol. I new my only chance was to get him out the hole and i did the first run but he was coming when he missed 4th. At my trap of 107mph it would of been real close had he hit 4th.

2nd run, he had around 3 cars on me by 105mph. I fucked up my launch worst then he did.

Camera car is a rental, its a Sonata. My friend had a 05-06 v6 Accord(exhaust/spray) that would of kept up with no problem(beat me from a dig wit him on DRs) but it was stolen last week so hes in a rental for now, kinda sucks.

good runs, but just so you know, if you are running street tires, heating them up is pointless. its actually worse to heat street tires up but if they were DRs, then its cool.

On a hot day i would agree with you 100% but it was prolly in the low 60s and i tried launching at a redligh just before the first race and it was as bad as the 2nd race launch, heating them up helped alot. I only launch one way evertime on the street.
