what is the proper way to adjust fuel pressure?
Guys,
I converted my fuel system on the Vette back to a return style with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator mounted on the rail. I want to run it boost referenced, but how do I set the pressure. I am hearing conflicting stories. this is how I think it should be done:
1) Remove the vac line on the regulator.
2) Adjust the pressure to about 58 psi at idle.
3) Reattach the vac line. The pressure should drop while under vac. Under boost the pressure should hold steady.
4) Tune the car and adjust the tables to achieve the desired AFR.
Is this correct? Also is there any advantage to running the pressure lower, say 54 psi?
Thanks

"Under boost the pressure should hold steady". W/ a vac reference, the FPR will see the boost and the FP should rise 1:1.
IE: 58 base, + 15# boost, the gauge reading should be 73#. This gives you a delta psi of 58....
Your setting is OK. Be sure engine is warmed up, and plug the vac line while doing this.
