With HP tuners you are locked to the PCM, not the VIN of the car. You can use your friends software but you would need to buy credits for your PCM.
Someone with EFI live will have to described their system.

efilive locks to pcm id. no limitation on type or model of pcm, model year etc.
so you can obtain 5 licenses and tune 5 pcm/tcm pairs. licenses come in pairs. also includes all custom operating systems for free. simply licensed by pcm id.

Your talking about your 94 right? Niether HPTuners of EFILive will work with that. You need to aget a ALDL cable like this http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...roducts_id=127 and Tuner C.A.T.S. software to do the actual tuning. With TC you just buy the definition file for LT1's ($80 i think) and you can tune all OBD1 LT1's with it.
