ASA Cam & L92 Engine
Did some searching on the Gen IV forums, but I couldn't find a suitable answer.
I blew up my LS1, and I'm going to swap in an L92 crate motor into my 4th gen (2001 Z28). I already did an ASA cam swap in the old car, and I assumed that this cam would 'choke' the motor since it was designed to run in a 5.7 car. Lo and behold that GMPP is using this very cam in the LS3 / 515 crate motor.
My question is (if the cam can be salvaged), would it be worth it to swap it into the L92? (Yes, I know there are better cams, and I may run one anyway, but I'd like to know the answer). The car is an autocrosser, so I'm more interested in under the curve power than outright dyno numbers.
My second question is why is this cam still being used on the bigger engine, and what hp / torque numbers should I expect from it in the larger cube engine?
Thanks in advance!

This is the same cam I would like to try in my stock long block LQ4 6.0L...
However, be prepared for people dissing the ASA cam...
It looks like this cam should provide some nice low end grunt and a smooth TQ curve, even in a larger engine, by looking at the power graph that the GMPP book provides for the 6.2L crate...nice for street/auto cross.

It doesn't have the lift that a lot of current trend cam enjoy. In giving up some lift it's a bit easier on the valve train.
With the 110 lobe seperation it's a bit choppy at idle. I would not suggest it for an in traffic daily driver. ( I might run it though )
I tend to favor small cams for thier low end. This cam is a smallish with that tight lobe sep.
Is your engine carbed? The 515 engine runs a carb.
