Default Double roller chain clearance area??

Have some parts on order including a double roller chain setup and melling 296 oil pump. I know that the boss on the inside of the cover needs to be milled off but I needed to know the area of the inside cover that sometimes comes into play. I have access to a machine shop at work and thought that while they are doing the milling of the boss they could do some clean up work for me on the area that normally causes an issue. I believe it is down by the pump itself just not sure if anywhere else normally hits. Thanks for the help.

I had the boss machined off and I just went in and with a 50 grit disc and just took alittle off most of the inside cover. Not alot just a hair all the way around and we'll start from there.

Gonna need to work on the pump also. The inlet area will come into contact with the double roller and the area where the part number is cast into the pump will touch. I took the front of the pump off and had it machined .040 so I didnt' have to mess with teh cover itself, just the boss where the bolt goes for the cam sensor. Hope that helps.

LME is going to machine .070 off of the pump. Thanks for the info.
