Excessive Pressure in the Crank Case..?
I have noticed what seems to be the symptoms of excessive case pressure. I have yellowish goop on my oil fill cap, there is smoke that comes out of it after it has ran and I remove the cap, and my oil change light comes on and off continously making me think that the sensor is getting sludge/goop on it and providing a false reading (Oil was changed last week and oil meter reset).
My question however is if there is anything else that would cause these symptoms? And if not, if it is excessive pressure, what are some reasons that cause it, and what can I do about it.
The motor is getting old (117k) with mods in sig. Most done at 105k. I dont really beat on it much anymore, it sees some street races about once a month. Other than that it is just highway miles back and forth to college about once every two weeks.
It has some lifter tick, and I didnt replace the lifters with the cam, so I plan on doing that this summer, but since I found this, I may be taking the motor out for a re-ring/re-bearing now also

the yellowish goop can be caused by moisture
if you short trip the car it could be condensation and it
never had a chance to evaporate it off. thats likely with
the cooler weather recently. if you do 50 miles of hiway at a time
and it comes back keep a close eye on your coolant level.
severe blowby can aeriate the oil and produce the yellow goop
also. a compression and leak down test would confirm.
