I have been wondering a long time about the differences between the blocks and would be glad if somebody could tell me. Thanks

Different Water Jacket and Cooling passages, hole in the front for the Bearing for the Water Pump Drive Shaft, probably some other small things..

Yep, that is pretty much it, small things really, the rotating assemblies will interchange with the 86+ 350 engine.
