Default What pcm should i use?

Ok guys i am new to this site i am swapping a 2000 6.0 into my 87 chevy 4x4 it will be useing a th350 auto what i am wondering is if I should use a stock pcm or an aftermarket i havew access to hp tuners pro and was told with a painless harness that i could use a stock pcm and tune for all the stuff i dont need out ... is this true? i am new to tuning and all but plan to start reading up on it as that seems to be what everyone says to learn by reading the forums ... any help would be great

I would try to find a 99-02 camaro/firebird or 99-04 chevy/gmc truck PCM. Pretty much anything with a V8 and no drive-by-wire setup will work for you. All of the unnecessary stuff can be disabled in the tune.
