Default Rocker Ratio's

I understand that the factory rocker ratio is 1.7. I see people going to 1.8 for little added power. I was wondering what is the benefit or downfall or using a 1.6 ratio. I tried searching and found little to no information on doing this. The little info i got was you can take advantage of the higher lift ramp rate from a higher lift cam but and not use the the listed lift as per say you were using a 1.7 ratio rocker. If somebody could shed some light my way that would be great. Thanks Louis

First problem I think you will find is the LSx heads have a specific distance from the pivot point to the valve setm and there are no 1.6's to my knowledge made for the LSx. If you use the older SBC rckers, they will likely have an incorrect distance from pivot to valve stem.
