Default 224/224 Cam in 06 A6 Vette with Video

2006 A6 Corvette, came to us with a 3.15:1 Differential, Melrose Headers, and Callaway Honker CAI. We installed a 224/224 .581/.581 cam. Customer did not want to have to change the converter and wanted a near stock idle. Tuned using our Mustang MD-1100SE dyno.

Baseline pull was:
351rwhp
349rwtq

Final Numbers:
380.1rwhp
355rwhp

I was getting 366rwtq up until the last two pulls. I think the motor was a little heat soaked at that point, showing a only a small gain in torque on the last pull.

Any way here's an over lay of the dyno sheets, and video.

The A6's do rob a lot of power. For one the dyno pulls are with the converter unlocked, and second there's no 1:1 transmission ratio. Plus they just take a lot of power to spin.

We see bone stock A6's dyno anywhere from 325-335rwhp, about 20-30rwhp less than manuals which usually dyno between 345-358rwhp bone stock (I did have one do 370 bone stock, but that must have just been a freak).

All those tests are also Mustang Dyno Numbers.

The LSA is a 114 with 2 degrees of advance built in. Car idles at 650rpm, which is only about 75rpm more than stock. It does not push the brakes at all, and for the most part drives like stock aside from slightly more rock at idle.

Guys this is a loaded dyno, not a 1500lb Dynojet.

Nice #'s. Thats a 400rwhp car on a dynojet with a stock idle
