Question what programmer for 01 TA?

I was thinking about getting a computer programmer for my 2001 pontiac trans am. Are they worth the money, if so what brand should I go with?

in no way are they worth the money. some will actually make you lose hp. some places will dynotune your car for the same price. with a dynotune you can get way more power and all the other stuff you needed done too.

I have the diablo programmer on mine and it made a diff. I have not messed with the performance but just made teh trans shift little harder. The main diff is that you take the torque management out and it makes it more fun to drive. I bought mine used from a friend, so I did not pay full retail.

He opted for EFIlive and dyno'd it having 2 hp more than tuning it with the diablo. I prefer the handhelds for if you change gears you can change the program without haveing a full tune performed.

If you are plannign on a h/c/i setup than wait afterwords and get a full dyno tune, because every car is diff.
