Rear Axle Change.

Rear Axle Change.
Does anyone know where I can find some instructions on how to change out a rear axle on 97 Trans Am? Anything for an LS1 would do, since I am sure the two are fairly similar. I haven't done this before so the more detail the better.
Did a search and checked out the usual suspects (Ls1howto and installU). Any help is greatly appreciated.

1. drain fluid and pull cover
2. loosen and remove the c-clip retaining bolt (i believe its a 5/16 bolt)
3. pull cross shaft.
4. remove c-clips (can be a bitch if you've never done it before)
5. carefully remove axles
Your 97 has an auburn diff. (very similar to the one pictured.) If it where a newer ls1 car it would most likely be a torsen. while the process is similar between the two they are a little bit different.
basically just pull the cover find the retaining bolt pull that out along with the cross shaft.(or retaining block) once you get the c-clips out you can pull the axles.
