Default Which 315 , 18in for my car?

So it's time for new rear tires, currently I have bf goodrich drag radials 285/35/18 Im not getting fronts since they are fine right now........Im not sure If I want 18in drag radials anymore so Im considering getting road tires or switching to 17x11's in the rear. If I do get 18in tires I want some 315's, I did a little research and found the following

Hankook Ventus R-S2 http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....&AID=10398365& $286 each

Falken RT-615
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...w=false&cs=315 $310 each

Had this same problem a few weeks ago. Ended up going with Goodyear GSD3 in a 295, they are wider than normal tires though.

Goodyears for sure, they are the nest looking 315 in my opinion.

they definately are wider, the 295 GS-D3s will prolly translate to a 305 on most other brands

315s, depends on the car wash. It won't make it or will make your butt pucker, NOT stress free. Gotta eyeball and won't know till you get in unless you have a spotter. 17x11s, you got some options - cheapo Sumis $100 each to the GSD3s at almost $300 each. I dig the Vredesteins, about 190-200 shipped. Good mileage out of them and quiet. For grip, go good year or BFG.

If I get goodyears I would have to switch my rear wheels to 17's.......since I have 18x10.5 in the back and 17x9.5 in the front

well to start falkens suck. i had 275/40/17's front and rear on my camaro and they would not hook at all when warm and when it was colder than 60 out side it would feel like i was on ice. i think a regular 555 nitto would be a good tire if they make that size.
falkens and hankooks are not very sticky tires and some of the gripyest i have had was the nittos.

Those Falken's are very sticky for cornering. A friend has them on a WRX and ive smacked my head on the window while going around corners more times than i can count. Just be aware that they wear quickly because they are so soft.

Thumbs up

Sound like a good choice with either tire in 315/30/18, but don't forget you also have some good options in 295/35/18.

Yeah but they are almost $400 a tire

so a 315/30/18 tire will fit on a 18x10.5in Rim safely right?
