Default Moving to DFW area. Need help!!

hey Guys.

I live up in Little Rock, Arkansas now and am getting ready to move to the dallas/ft worth area. I have picked up a Network engineering job in Wylie Tx (sp?). I really dont know whats a nice part of town and whats a "not so nice part".

I really don't want to move into another apartment. preferably a nice house. I have been told a few nice places are, Rockwall, Royse City, etc. I want to live not to far from Wylie so i don't have to commute far, and I found a pretty nice house in Terrell and have no clue really whats around there.

Just need some input on places, cities, etc. Maybe you know a place for Rent??

Ps. Also picking up a new Lsx when i come to town.

Wyle is a developing area with new homes going up all thru the area. Wyle is next to Plano which has some real nice areas also.

i live in Plano and it's not too bad but Murphy and Wylie are both growing and have some decent areas to live. When I moved here I was told tostay away from Mesquite other than that if you don't mind driving a little, Allen and McKinney are both very nice as well adn only about a 15-30 minute drive depending on location. When you get into town let us know and we can get gtg with other car guys around here and have some fun.

a lot of it depends on what kind of lifestyle you want to have. Wylie is a little bit of a drive out of the city. you might want to try the plano area so you can be between your work and dallas. also, the reality is that you wont work at that company forever, and there is a high probablility that your next job will be in dallas.

wylie would not be bad to live in...
Go with wylie.. sachse.. rowlett.. plano... those are in the area you will be in..
you will not want to get a place on the other side of town and try to get to wylie.. wont be fun..
all the areas i mentioned really dont have too bad of areas to watch out for...
they are not gang areas if that is what you are referring to.. some parts of any town will have gangs, but the cities I mentioned are not bad at all..

thanks guys, keep an eye out for some 6 speed ws6 or ss at some local dealerships. I might just settle with a cheaper apt. (500-700$) till I get settled in with my job and finish training. I'm pretty excited. What all is there to do in Dallas for fun?? There is absolutely nothing here (little rock) to do.

Anyone live in Plano or wylie and recommend any apt. Or houses for rent??

I heard Plano was pretty expensive. I have a **** ton of credit card payments, will have 2 car payments a bike payment and some traffic fines. All in all I have about 2k to 2300$ in bills without rent. Keep your eyes peeled guys. If I can find something for a decent price I can get this forged 347 00' ws6

You do not want to go to Terrell. It is not an easy drive to Wylie from there. Too many farm roads and construction through Rockwall. Google map Wylie. You will get a good idea of what is close. I live in Sachse now and have lived everywhere from Terrell to east Dallas to Sachse in the last 40 years. Sachse is a great location. I am less than 10 miles from 2 regional malls and less than 5 miles from PGB tollway. Once you get out towards Lavon on 78 it can be an *** whoopin to get back and forth. 78 is a bitch with traffic and they are about to start construction on it again. I would try to keep your search from Wylie west.

Where did you land a Network engineer job in Wylie?

Axcent Networks. We don't have any tollways here so don't really know what the purpose of those are.

Before PGBT it took my wife 45 minutes to an hour to get to work. Now it takes her 20 minutes. We love the tollway.

its a main road that you have to pay a toll every so often, i love the toll way, if you use it alot a toll tag is great lol then you dont have to stop just go under a sensor thing, if you dont have one you have to stop and throw some change in a bucket lol
