okay for a twin turbo application would it be a problem for the piping before the intercooler to combine (piping from the turbos to the intercooler)? I am thinking to compensate for combining a bigger diameter is needed but will that cause any problems?

nope,do it that way all the time,just make sure the single is sized properly
