i was on my way to work this morning at around 5 in riverside. i never see any fast cars on my drive to the freeway ( about 8 miles) and this morning a c5 with at least a exhaust flew by me . I thought wth lets have some fun since the road was clear. well i had a hard time catching him until i dropped into 3rd and proceeded to pass him near 4th gear. i know it was an ls1 c5 but i thought that it would beat me. the guy was kind of cocky becasue i was next to him at the following light and rolled my window down to say nice run but he just looked ahead after he saw me roll my window down.

makes me feel good that my camaro with bolt ons can still run with a vette.

So.. you couldn't catch up to him, then you dropped some gears and flew by him? sounds like a flyby, and he likely didn't know he was racing.

+1. I do this **** all the time.. a guy in a decent car flies by while I'm cruising and I'll drop a gear or two to catch up and see if they wanna play. I wouldn't call it a kill unless we actually lined up.

Assuming he's running hard, I doubt you'd catch him if he flew by, then you dropped to 4th, and then to 3rd. It's hard to run down a car like a Vette that's accelerating from 80 while you start from 60.
