General Maintenance & Repairs - What goes here?

I noticed an odd looking thing inside my car. It looks like some sort of holster, like something should sit in it. It is behind the kick panel on the passenger side, below and to the right of the glove box. Anyone know if something is supposed to be here?

So should all those wires to the left of it be running through it instead?

the f body from 93-95 used for alloy the part of wireless entry, then 96-2002 bcm do the same so that kind of bracket is unused now; well i used to hold my after-market alarm

Thats where I mounted my crossovers.
