Default Predator scanning question

I was looking at one of these to buy but first i have some questions. I currently own ls1edit, so it wouldnt be for the editing capabilities but for the scaning abilities. I would like to keep this in the car so if/when my SES light comes on i can check it out right there and then. I dont want to buy a 2k snap on scan tool because i only need it for my car, and autotap isnt practical to have in your car at all times due to the need of the laptop. So what im getting at is, how are the scaning abilities of this unit? Does it get all DTC's and give you the #? How about o2's and what not? what does it give you/ what does it not give you? Thanks in advance guys.

I have NOT had to reteieve any DTC's with my Predator as of yet. However, I have used it and a passenger to watch the O2 readings, fuel trims, timing + KR, etc. The updates could be a bit faster and the user interface could be a bit quicker(user friendly). Although it has done everything they said it would so far. Sorry I can't elaborate on the DTC aspect of it more. I hope that I don't need to use it for DTC retrieval

I have seen on the predator website that they make a hand held scanner that has scanning capabilities as the predator. Might be worth looking into. http://www.eobd.com/

search for a used one if thats all you need, i found one for $40 for that same purpose.

It will do all the DTc's i've thrown when starting the car with connectors disconnected. MAF, EGR, ect.

i have not had any other issued with it.
