Default driveshaft questions

I picked up a 9 inch rear and a rebuilt stock center section. Come to find out the damn driveshaft is to short by a decent bit. How do I measure to get the correct lenght for a new one? I do not thing this car will ever make more than 600rwhp in its lifetime reaguardless if I spray it or not so what should I look into for material? I am shooting for 440-500rwhp through a 6 speed btw with 4.11 gears. Any pleace that does custom driveshafts in md? or a place that does cheap ones?

Just call Bob at EPP and tell him you need a DS for your nine inch. I know he has some PST aluminum ones that should work great. The general rule is 1 inch longer for a 9 inch and 1 inch shorter for a 12 bolt. Here is how to measure if you want to do that: http://www.pstds.com/driveshafts_101.htm#Driveshaft
