ls6 intake vs. typhoon intake
since i have a 99 trans am it did not come with the ls6 intake. i am looking to upgrade my intake and was wondering what intake is better the ls6 or 85mm typhoon. what would make more power? also would a stock throttle body that has been ported work good with a 85mm typhoon?

I say typhoon. They had a brief history of having sealing/leaking issues but they've since been remedied by Prof Products. There is the considerstion of heat soak, but hasn't been proved/dis-proved. None of the newer model owners have had any complaints, that I've seen at least.

I have both in my garage and am also wondering the same thing. From what I have seen advertised, the typhoon makes ~17 more HP than the ls6. The typhoon is a heavy biotch in comparison though.

Buy the typhoon intake and get it ported. I thought mine was junk at first, but I took it to a different tuner to have it checked out and the intake was fine It was just all in the tune. (however I do have a FAST 92 TB)
the intake looks great, runs great and must cheaper then FAST.
Now if I had the $800 in my pocket I would have picked up the FAST, but for the money it's hard to beat a ported Typhoon for the money Ported.
and don't worry about the heat soak issue, it's not that big of a deal.
99% of the people who will cry about heat soak and how it will heat soak really bad don't own the intake. I think just about everyone who owns the Typhoon has no issue with heat soak
Just my 2 cents

the intake really looks good with some good valve covers, still saving up money for that nothing wrong with a little flash under the hood
