Default 59cc heads + CR + Gaskets

Alright, I have 59cc 5.3L heads with a 224/230 .581/.588 114LSA with stock head gaskets and stock bottom end. Im already running low 11s compression, my question is would it benefit me to jump to .045 or even a .030 cometic gasket for a street car that does see the track at times????

I think with the .045 gaskets, I should be right in the mid 11s compression. Any imput would help. thanks!!

I calculate your current SCR at 11.34:1. See below for calculation:

If you install .040/3.910 Cometic's, your SCR goes to 11.76:1. You would see a slight performance increase but I'm not sure it would be worth the amount of work to swap head gaskets.

Thanks bud. That should be good enough for a normal street car, right? I mean, with a little better tune it should be safe with 93 octane, right. And yeah, it would be worth it for me. I love messing with my car, I just dont have the money for a bigger engine right now, so im maxing out the 224 cam I have right now to see what I can do with it!!! Thanks again!!

Assumptions:
stock combustion chamber volume: 64.45cc
Flat mill: .0065 = 1cc
Heads milled .040 = 6.15cc chamber reduction = 58.3cc combustion chamber

Calculation:

You will be fine as long as you run 93 and the tune is correct.
