Default Need help!!! Cam gear and crank gear

Okay i'm installing a double rollmaster timing chain and I am using the ls1howto to help with everything but picture i believe are for a stock chain.

But my question is which marks to i use on the crank gear. There is a dot on the tooth and a dot on the very front of the crank gear. Everything seems to line up perfectly when I use the dot on the tooth of the crank gear.

Can anyone help me who has installed the double rollmaster timing set?

Just want to make sure i have it installed properly before moving ahead.

Thanks in advance!!

My cam already has an advanced ground in of +1 already. So can't i just install it straight up dot to dot.

I guess my real question is why is there 2 dots on the crank sprocket gear.

I guess what i'm really confused on is which dot do i use on the crank gear. I don't want to use any advance so do I use the dot on tooth or use the dot by the key holes.

I'm new to all of this and i'm trying to learn as I go. Sorry for the confusion
