Default Thoughts on a VRX4 Cam or similar

i am looking at purchasing Vengeance Racing's VRX4 cam. (228/230 .588/.592 112 LSA.)

2002 Z28. My mods include Lid, Long tubes, Cutout, Vigilate 3000 Stall, Built tranny w/shift kit, P/P TB.

I have been debating about how big to go for a long time. I was just curious how this cam acts on the street, and also what kind of times people are running with this or similar sized cams. - i'm not worried about street manners, and i LOVE lope-

Another Question : would it be overkill to put patriot dual valve springs in? (i'm changing springs regardless) i just want to know if this will put added strength, and or strain on my valve train?

ive been looking at the same cam... its suppose to be good on the street and gain ~5HP over the VRX3... lope will all be in the tune and the dual springs should be perfect! for this size cam, ive been seeing .5 in the 1/4 and .8ish with a set of heads

I have that cam so maybe I can offer some insight.

The cam has near stock driveability. The tune that is the car was for max power and has little concern for gas milage or driveability. In 6th gear I can roll down the road @ 40mph with ease rolling with 4.10 gears.

As for sound, it has change, lope is there but its not something that is apparent compared to other cams, its somewhat stealthy.

I got my set up right from Ron at Vengance and he gave me upgraded 918 springs and had me reuse stock steel retainers.

You can go duals but get the Ti retainers, it is a bit overkill, IF your uneasy using newer 918's PAC sells their beehive that have a better track history.

My car will get retuned and with the 12 bolt and 6 speed, it should be makeing 380-400 rwhp on a smallish cam.

The VRx5 was bigger of a jump then I wanted.
