Default deck clearance issues

i'm going through preassemby and i was measuring my piston deck clearances. i noticed that the odd pistons come up around .015 to .025 ABOVE the deck. the even pistons are around .002 to .007 BELOW. i just don't understand how they can be this far off. i checked the block for warpage, and it was off between the 5th and 7th cylinder .003. i'm using these pistons, stock rods and a stock crank. when i bought the car, it had a blown head gasket. it ran fine after i changed the head gasket. i dunno wtf is going on. any help is appreciated. thanks

What crank, rods? What machine work was done? Something doesn't sound right.

^^ he said stock con rods and crank. i think he might of had taken out to much materiel from the deck surface when he was replacing the head gasket.

it's an ls1. I actually didn't replace the head gasket myself so I can't tell you how it was cleaned off... I had someone else do it because I didn't have the time to do it myself. the guy who did it is the master tech at a gm dealership around my hometown. when I took it apart this time I just used a plastic ice scraper and some mineral spirits.

i've had no mchine work done to it. I don't have the time to wait for it. I have to report to ft hood in the beginning of march. this engine only has to last me until I can get there and start my next build.
