Alternator crapped out

Alternator crapped out My alternator crapped out today as I was pulling in my drive way. What a relief that was I guess. I was wondering if any body went to a aftermarket alternator, or did you stick with a GM one?
I have a audio system blah blah blah and was wondering if that maybe the reason it went out?
Any help will be nice thanks.
